How To Make Murg Do Pyaza At Home
Chicken Do Pyaza Recipe
Murg do Pyaza is a popular dish among non vegetarian lovers. Do Pyaza does not mean that just two onions are used in the dish. It is the way of using two types of onions. One is chopped and other is diced. It is a dish with unique flavors.Marination of chicken for overnight enhances the flavors more.
Ingredients
For marination
Chicken half kg
Ginger garlic paste 2 tbs
Red chilly powder 1 ts
Cumin powder half ts
Coriander powder 1 ts
Mustard oil 2 tbs
Salt as per taste
Marinate chicken with all these spices for at least 1 hour (if you have time then marinate 12 hours before)
For Masala
Onion chopped 2 no
Onions diced 1 no (cut onions in cubes and separate all bulbs of onions)
Tomatoes chopped finely or puree 3-4 nos
Curd half cup
Coriander powder 2 tbs
Red chily powder 1 tbs
Turmeric half tbs
Garlic chopped 1 tbs
Ginger paste 1ts
Dry Fenugreek leaves (Kasuri methi) 2 tbs
Garam masala 1-1/2 tbs ( mix of 2 green cardamoms, 5 cloves, 1 half inch cinnamon stick, 6-8 pepper corns, nut meg powder a pinch, 1 black cardamom )
Salt as per taste
Desi ghee 3-4 tbs
Cream half cup
Mint leaves 2 tbs
Coriander leaves 2 tbs
Tej patta 2 nos
Water half cup
Method
• Heat ghee in a pan. Add tej patta. Add chopped garlic and onions and saute them to get them sweat. Add tomatoes too and let them cook till become soft.
• Put marinated chicken and cook till it becomes brown in colour(Don't over stir chicken otherwise it will break). Add ginger paste too
• Add all dry powder masale and curd to it(While adding curd continuously stir it otherwise it will get curdled).
• When curd separates from ghee add onions cut into bulbs. Add half cup of water. Mix all well and cook for 2-3 minutes. So that all flavors sticks to chicken.
• Now heat cream in another pan (Don't boil) and add mint leaves, fenugreek leaves and coriander leaves. Mix all well. Pour this mixture on chicken while serving in a bowl.
