Khatte Aloo-Tangy potatoes with sweet and sour taste

Potatoes are available every where in the globe. Anyone at any time can cook them to satisfy their hunger.They are so easy  and fast to cook. Though it has its own taste but it can combine with every dish.While  combined with any thing  it adopts the taste of others and gives the dish a unique satisfaction. It can be sweet or sour.Any kind of dish can be made out of it.


Ingredients


Potato half kg

Tamarind water  half cup( imli)
Coriander powder 1 tbs
Cumin powder half ts
Hing  1/4 ts
Fenugreek dana 1/4 ts( methi)
Cumin seeds 1/2 ts
Dry red chily 3-4 no
Green chily 2 no chopped
Red chily powder 1/2 ts
Turmeric 1/2 ts
Salt as per taste
Jaggery ( gur ) or sugar 1/2 ts
Dry fenugreek leaves
(Kasuri methi)
Mustard Oil 3 tbs
Coriander leaves 2 ts

Method


1: Boil potatoes.

Tip: If you don't have boiled potatoes then just peel the skin of raw potatoes and cut them in cubes and pressure cook them (2 -3 whistles) by just showering little water and add to your dishes.
2: Heat oil in a pan and add methi dana and let it become dark in colour(You can skip it if you don't like it).
3: Add hing , cumin seeds, dry red chilies and get them crack.
4: Now add potatoes and salt and cook them for 5 mins so that salt gets incorporated in potatoes.
5: Add all dry masale in it. Stir for some time and add imli water to it. (You can adjust the sourness according to your taste) Again stir it and let water boiled. At this time add jaggery and again give it a  good mix.
6: Add Kasuri methi , ginger , (If you dont like the raw ginger flavor you can add it  with other dry masalas) green chilies and cook for two minutes. Adjust the consistency of the gravy of potatoes thin or thick according to your taste. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves and serve with dal chawal or chana poori . Enjoy
