Moong Dal Khichdi Recipe
Khichdi is a dish that you can have at any time. From a kid to an older person every body love to have it. It is light to digest and have health benefits too. Making daal khichdi is very simple. Even youngsters like to cook and eat it.
Ingredients
Rice 1 Cup
Daal 1 Cup
Onion 1 chopped
Ginger chopped 2 tbs
Garlic chopped 2 tbs
Desi Ghee 2 tbs
Oil 2 tbs
Tomato 1 chopped
Afosteda (Hing) half ts
Cumin 1 tbs (zeera)
Turmeric half tbs
Green chilies 2 no chopped
Salt as per your taste
Red chili powder half tbs
Coriander powder 1 ts(dania)
Cumin powder half ts(zeera)
Dry Fenugreek leaves 1 tbs( kasuri methi)
(Roast methi on tawa and crush while using)
Fresh coriander leaves
Method
• Heat oil in a cooker. Put hing, zeera and let them splutter.
• Add onions and sweat them.. Add tomatoes and all spices mix all well.
• Now add daal and stir well. Add rice and mix well.
• Add ginger and garlic, salt and ghee. Pour water, add fenugreek and give one whistle.
• When pressure releases add coriander leaves and serve.
