Who doesn't like Butter? Be it of any kind, it can enhance the taste of every meal and there is no right time to indulge in some butter. Be it kids or the elders, it's hard to say No to it. But, when it comes to our health, we have to be mindful of what we eat as those tasty calories may risk our health.
So here I have a solution to this, a butter delicious and not so sinful. Peanut Butter!
Any one can enjoy it, as peanuts boost our health as they are good for our heart, bones and control cholesterol as well. The Peanut Butter available in the market often advertised as a healthy product has loads and loads of sugar which actually is not good for anybody. So here I am with an easy recipe to make healthy peanut butter with chocolate flavor.
Chocolate Peanut Butter
Ingredients
1 cup raw peanuts
1 tbs honey
2 tbs sugar (optional)
1-2 tbs peanut, sunflower, soya bean or any fragnance free oil(optional)
1/4 ts salt
2 tbs Choco powder or 20gms dark chocolate( melt it in microwave for 30 to 40 seconds and adjust darkness of chocolate as per your taste)
Method
- Roast peanuts in a pan at low to medium flame till they are crisp. It will hardly take 8-10 minutes. Make sure you are stirring it continuously otherwise they will burn from one side and will remain raw from the other (To find if they are done is by rubbing their cover, if it comes out easily then its done). Note: You can also roast them in a microwave by tossing them frequently after an interval of not more than 1 minute. Repeat this process till they are crisp.
- Remove peanuts from gas and let them cool.
- Now shift peanuts on kitchen towel, make a knot on the towel and rub them thoroughly so that all peanuts get free from their covers.
- Once done, sieve peanuts in a siever and separate nuts from the skin.
- Now take a grinder and add peanuts and make a paste. First turn will be for 5 - 7 seconds.
- Now open the jar and add salt, honey and oil and again turn the mixer on for few more seconds. When peanuts form a paste and release oil, stop the grinder. Note: You can skip oil too to make it oil free, as peanuts release their own oil.
- Now you can add Choco powder and turn switch on the grinder and let it mix properly. Tip : You can also add melted dark Chocolate instead of Choco powder to give it a rich taste of chocolate.
Tip: To give a crunchy texture to the Peanut Butter, remove some mix after Step 5 and mix once the butter is ready.
Enjoy with any type of breads, rotis or as topping on cupcakes!
